Privacy
The short version: this site has no accounts and asks you for nothing. Plain visit counts are collected for everyone. Anything beyond a count waits until you say yes.
What we store
¶Nothing you generate leaves your browser. Names are assembled on your own device from data the page already downloaded — we never see which names you rolled, and there is no server that could record them.
Your browser remembers a few small things locally, and only your browser can read them: whether you allowed analytics, any interface preference you set, and the names you have saved, which the next section describes. Clearing your site data removes all of it.
One page is the exception, and says so where it stands. The name checker has to ask the domain registries whether a name is already registered, so a name typed into it — or carried to it from a generator — is sent to those registries. It is not sent to us: there is no server of ours in the path, and nothing else on this site sends anything anywhere.
Counting visits
Separately from the choice below, page views are counted for every visitor using Cloudflare Web Analytics. A small script reports which page was loaded, where the visit came from, the country, the name of the browser and operating system, and how quickly the page rendered. We set no identifier of our own, and we ask the script for nothing about you beyond that.
Cloudflare processes this on our behalf — they also host the site, so every request already passes through them — and what they log is governed by their privacy policy. What reaches us is a count and a list of pages. There is nothing in it that lets us pick out a person, and we make no attempt to.
This is why the count is not behind the consent choice: it carries no profile and follows nobody between sites. Anything that would — behaviour, events, anything joined up over time — is Google Analytics, and that waits for your answer.
Names you save
The save button beside a name keeps it in this browser's local storage, together with its parts, their meanings and the set it came from. That store belongs to your browser and to nothing else: it is never sent anywhere, there is no account to sync it to and no server that could hold a copy, which also means it does not follow you to another device and disappears if you clear this site's data. Besides your analytics answer and any interface preference, saved names are the only thing in it.
Analytics
If you agree, we load Google Analytics to see which generators people use and how they move through the site. It is configured with consent mode and IP anonymisation, and it stays switched off entirely until you choose Allow. If you choose Decline, Google Analytics does not load and no measurement cookie is set.
To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings; the choice will be offered again on your next visit.
What we do not do
No advertising, no ad profiling, no tracking you across other sites, no selling or sharing of data with anyone, no newsletter, no account, and no attempt to identify you personally.
Contact
This site holds nothing that identifies you, so there is nothing to ask us to delete. Analytics can be switched off at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. Anything else: info@visible-impact.ch.
